Pastor Mark was born and raised in the northernmost neighborhood of New York City. His childhood pastimes included playing in the woods (yes, there are woods there), basketball, stickball, and touch football on a dead-end street. He graduated from Binghamton University (Binghamton, N.Y.) in 1994 with a B.A. in Philosophy and Psychology, Columbia University (New York, N.Y.) in 1996 with an M.A. in Education, and Wesley Theological Seminary (Washington, D.C.) in 2003 with a Master of Divinity degree.

During his seminary years, Mark served as the Youth Minister for Trinity United Methodist in McLean and as the Seminarian for Cherrydale United Methodist in Arlington. From 2007-2015, he served as the Pastor of Del Ray United Methodist in Alexandria. In 2015, he was appointed to St. Stephen’s United Methodist in Burke, where he served until coming to Evergreen in 2019.  Mark believes we really start living when we really start living with God, and he has devoted his ministry to helping people (including himself) make this life-changing connection.

Mark and Audra have been married since 1996 and have two sons as well as two cats. Audra is a pastoral counselor with the Center for Pastoral Counseling of Virginia. Mark’s hobbies include reading, walking, and yes, he still plays basketball.

Director of Children & Youth Ministries

Dana Jackson and her husband, David, were both raised in the Northern Virginia area.  After getting married and spending a few years in Richmond, they moved back up to Northern Virginia with their two girls, Kaylyn and Elizabeth.  Dana has a BS in Dental Hygiene, but later in life she responded to a call in ministry, and in 1998 Dana began working as a Children’s Ministry Director.

Over the years, Dana transitioned into both Children and Youth Ministry.  Dana has taken multiple courses on Children and Youth Ministry, as well as attended over a dozen conferences to further her education and learn more about ministry.  Dana is very passionate about her faith, family, and her ministry in the church.  In her free time she likes to travel, spend time with family, and craft.

Director of Music

In addition to taking on the role of music director at Evergreen, Jeromy is a piano, woodwind, and strings instructor at B2R. He started learning piano from a young age. Through taking weekly lessons, he acquired a lifelong love for music.

In middle school, he decided to further explore music by learning the clarinet and joining the band. He went on to study music in college, graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. While he was in Richmond, he studied clarinet and piano performance, where he challenged himself to improve his skill and learn many different difficult pieces.

With over 15 years of playing experience, Jeromy is excited to join Evergreen and lead its praise band.
