Dear Evergreen Family:
School is starting. This is a (hopefully) once in a lifetime back-to-school season. For many, it’s a laptop instead of a desk. It’s the kitchen refrigerator instead of the school cafeteria. It’s pajamas instead of a new pair of jeans. Normal school years bring plenty of challenges for young people, their parents, and their teachers. This year, the challenges are different. In many cases, the challenges are greater. In many cases, the challenges are still unforeseen. They need our prayers. They need God’s grace. They are about to hit the ground running (or at least typing).
Tomorrow, we will partner with Leesburg UMC on two prayer walks at local schools. We’ll meet outside at Sycolin Creek Elementary School at 10:00 a.m. and Loudoun County High School at 2:00 p.m. We’ll pray for not only those schools but for our other area schools as well. Come on out and join in this important prayer ministry!
On Sunday, at our 9:00 a.m. outdoor service, we’ll have a back-to-school blessing for all students. We’ll also have a Bible gifting for two-year-olds, second graders, and sixth graders.
School is starting. The Lord our God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. For that, I am very grateful.
May God bless us all.
Your Fellow Minister in Christ,
Mark
