Pastor Chip Giessler is excited and thankful to be part of the new thing God is doing in the formation of Evergreen Church. And he's confident you'll like it too.
Chip and his family moved to Leesburg in July ’99 from Newport News VA (where he pastored for 6 years). They live in the Kinkaid Forest neighborhood, near the Leesburg Airport.
Prior to coming here, he had lived in Boston MA, Berkeley CA, Washington DC, Durham NC, Peshawar Pakistan, and a handful of other places. But having gone to high school in Fairfax County (Mount Vernon H.S. '83), he considers Northern Virginia home.
He majored in computer science & philosophy at Duke University, served as an officer in the US Air Force (Ft. Meade, MD, Bolling AFB & the Pentagon), attended seminary at Gordon-Conwell (a non-denominational theological school near Boston), and has pastored for 10years.
Here in Leesburg, Chip enjoys coaching youth soccer, playing in pick-up basketball games, biking on the W & OD trail, and kayaking on Goose Creek & the Potomac River. His favorite nearby hiking spots are Raven Rocks (just north of where the Appalachian Trail crosses Rt. 7), Balls Bluff battlefield, Red Rocks overlook, and the perimeter path on the Evergreen Church land. He also especially enjoys Sunday afternoon picnics with new friends at the church land.
You can reach Chip by calling Evergreen church at (703) 737-7700 or send him e-mail: pastor@evergreenchurch.net.
