Rick Gibbs
Director of Children's Ministry

Rick has been married to Theresa since 1992. They have two children.

Born in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, Rick graduated from Point Pleasant High School in 1976. He served in the United States Navy from 1976 to 1981 as an Ocean Systems Technician.  Rick accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized in 1981, while studying Elementary Education at Marshall University.       

Rick then served as an officer in the US Army from 1985 to 1991.  Following his active duty service, he worked as a defense contracting officer in Columbus Ohio. 

In addition to his part time ministry at Evergreen Church, Rick works full time as a Contracts Specialist for GovWorks in Herndon. 

Rick gained valuable experience as a Christian servant-leader while serving as an Elder with responsibility for children’s ministry at Northside Fellowship Church in Westerville, Ohio from 2002 to 2005. 

A word from Rick: 

We moved to Purcellville in September of 2005 and were looking for a church home.  After several months of actively searching we found Evergreen in February 2006.  I am very excited to serve the Lord in the position as Director of Children’s Ministry for Evergreen.  My family and I are pleased that Evergreen is the type of church where we can grow in our personal relationship with God.   It is such a blessing to serve the Lord and do something I love: work with children.  I look forward to serving Evergreen and seeing the church grow and glorify God through His children.
